Set on the peaceful shores of Bear Lake in Muskoka, this new legacy cottage was designed as a timeless retreat where comfort, style and serenity come together. Our clients came to us with a dream—to replace their aging family cottage with a new build that still felt like a familiar escape, where the weight of the world lifts the moment you walk in.
We started by tearing down the original structure to make way for a thoughtfully designed home that blends timeless cottage charm with elevated, cozy luxury. The new cottage welcomes you with a rich, warm colour palette that immediately sets the tone for the rest and reconnection.
Deep earthy tones, warm woods and layered textures invite you to slow down and stay awhile.
At the heart of the home is a large, open-concept kitchen and dining area that is designed for gathering.
The kitchen is as functional as it is beautiful, perfect for family breakfasts, casual mid-day snacking or large impromptu dinners.
All of this unfolds against the breathtaking backdrop of Bear Lake, with floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining and great room offering a front-row seat to Muskoka’s charm and natural beauty.
Once you can pull your gaze from the view outside they will naturally drift to the gorgeous stone fireplace that anchors the great room and draws people together.
Whether you’re enjoying a meal, a book, or simply a moment of quiet, the fireplace is always part of the experience.
Every corner of the main floor was designed with comfort in mind. Curl-up-ready seating, thoughtfully placed lighting and soft, textured fabrics make it impossible not to relax.
The primary suite, tucked just off the great room, feels like its own private retreat–serene, drenched in natural light and perfectly appointed.
Downstairs, the lower level opens right out to the lake. A mix of new and old furniture adds a curated, lived-in feel throughout.
Four additional bedrooms, a spacious rec room, fireplace and bar make this area easy for hosting.
